The Claims Dashboard provides a comprehensive view of your claims data and metrics

Introduction

The Claims Dashboard provides a real-time overview of claims-related data. It is divided into three main sections:

  • Finances

  • Management

  • Prevention (coming soon)

📊 Finances Section

This section summarizes the financial performance of your claims activity. It includes high-level figures, monthly trends, and comparative insights.

Each section contains visual analytics and performance metrics to help you understand claims trends, financial exposure, and operational effectiveness.

🔢 Key Metrics

Located at the top of the dashboard:

  • Total incident incurred: Sum of all claim estimates (includes both paid and reserved amounts).

  • Total paid out sum: Total amount already paid to claimants.

  • Total incident reserve: Funds set aside for pending or estimated future payments.

  • Premiums paid: Sum of collected insurance premiums for the filtered period.

📉 Reserve vs Paid Out Value (Bar + Line Chart)

Tracks the relationship between:

  • Total incident reserve (bar chart): Monthly snapshot of reserves held.

  • Total paid out sum (bar chart): Monthly claim payments.

  • Paid/reserved ratio (line chart): Monthly ratio between paid claims and reserves.

  • Average paid / reserved ratio (numeric): An average indicator across the period.

Use this chart to understand reserve adequacy and payout behavior over time.

🕒 Year-over-Year Claim Trends

1. Claim Volume

Helps assess frequency trends and seasonal patterns.

  • X-axis: Months

  • Y-axis: Number of claims

  • Two lines compare the current and previous year.

2. Average Claim Value

Reveals cost trends per incident and pricing insights.

  • X-axis: Months

  • Y-axis: Average amount paid per claim.

3. Financial Impact

Displays comparative financial exposure between current and previous year.

  • Combines metrics:

    • Incident reserve

    • Paid out sum

    • Incident incurred

Each chart includes a YoY change percentage to show trend direction.

📍 Claims by Location

Table view showing:

  • Location name

  • Number of incidents

  • Total incident reserve

  • Total paid out sum

  • Total incident incurred

Useful for comparing performance or loss ratios by city.

📁 Management Section

The Management tab provides insights into the lifecycle and classification of claims.

✅ Claims Status Breakdown

Displays a donut chart with:

  • Resolved: Claims that are fully processed.

  • Waiting for resolution: Pending claims under review or awaiting external input.

  • Rejected: Claims declined for various reasons.

  • Trip validation: Claims that requires additional trip information in order to prove that a trip has happened

  • Needs approval: Claims pending internal validation or escalation.

Each status shows the total count for the selected period.

🏷 Claims Categories:

Analyze the breakdown of claims by category to identify patterns, such as:

  • Collision with personal injury

  • Personal injury

  • Property damage

  • 3rd party property damage

  • Collision (no injury)

🚫 Rejected Claims – Reasons

Review the rejection reasons chart to understand common causes for claim denials

📆 Monthly Claims

Displays a monthly bar chart segmented by claim status.

You can toggle between Incident date or Reported date

  • Incident date: When the claim event occurred.

  • Reporting date: When the claim was submitted.

🧭 Filters & Controls

At the top of the dashboard:

  • Date range picker: Filter data for custom periods.

  • Location filter: View claims by region or office.

Each chart and metric updates dynamically based on selected filters.

Best Practices

  • Regular monitoring: Check the dashboard at least once a week for optimal claims management

  • Data interpretation: Compare metrics across different time periods to identify trends

  • Action items: Use insights from the dashboard to make informed operational decisions
